It's by interacting with all sort of items and smaller objects that she will find an exit. Some are instantly applied to their places, like keys to doors, while others should be combined to have any effect at all. The Mouse does all the actions, from talking to taking and using items. Jessica counts with smart help, so make sure to have an escape plan before clicking everywhere. She is in a hurry, but still careful.
